Vauxhall Nova starts but when in gear won't move

car started stuttering, then cut out, started again normally, but when in gear won't move.

If it wont drive there's got to be a fault in transmission somewhere i.e clutch knackered , driveshaft sheared etc. etc .Other possible cause , brakes seized solid if not trans . fault .

sounds like clutch knackered or gear linkage out of adjustment,check the clutch cable adjustment,do a stall test on the clutch.if you start up car and put it in gear,release clutch keeping your foot on brake.the car should stall if clutch is ok,check your drive shafts are ok and that you are getting drive from the gearbox
