Check if you have a dash panel light dimmer switch and if it is not needing adjusted or accidently turned off

Many thanks for your response. I had tried and tested the summer switch. The mileometer telling me my mileage lights up and it will dim as normal so the dimmer switch works. The speedometer light is not lighting. If a fuse was at fault I would have expected both lights to mal function.
Perhaps a bulb has blown somewhere in the dash. However even that is a puzzle as the glove box light is not working either. Thanks again for your response.

Not to sure what the summer switch you refer to . but most cars have the dimmer switch you can adjust brightness and on / off . You tried your glove box light with the side lights on , as some only come on then ? Not sure if this is for your year
Once again thank you. Forgive my typo. The "summer switch" should have read as "-dimmer switch".
It does function and I can adjust brightness. The only thing that lights up however is the mileage record.
Thank you for suggesting trying it with side lights on.
No joy I'm afraid. Plan now to get circuit tested in service station. Not my day as you say. Wishing you a peaceful and joyful year in 2024.

It may be a instrument cluster fault . Best wishes for 2024
Have looked at the link you sent. Looks as if I may have to face an invoice for a lot more than the simple bulb replacement I was expecting. The mechanic who has serviced my car for years is away at present. Must await his return. Many thanks for preparing me for possible outcome.
