refuses to work properly and the alarm sounds frequently. You can hear the locks click on and off whenever the car comes to a halt at traffic lights or when parked. Turning clockwise and anticlockwise the red knobs at the inner sides of the back doors fixes the alarm problem for almost one trip only but the alarm goes off again and the same has to be repeated!

Try turning the child locks off and auto locking ( if fitted ) off also . Could also test your car battery voltage as if low it can often affect locks in a lot of vehicles

Tried the child locks but not tested the battery voltage. Would think it something the MOT garage does. I just had it serviced and MOT’ed but problem persists. Will check the voltage though. Thanks.

Really nothing do with routine servicing unless specifically asked to check , certainly would not be tested or an item checked in MOT test unless fault present prior to starting test
