Vauxhall Meriva no ignition lights and doors wont unlock after replacing key fob battery

I changed the battery in the fob because the central locking system wouldn't work and now i have no ignition or anything

Sounds like your car battery is flat Either try a jump start , testing battery voltage , charge or replace battery if needed

Thanks for the reply, First thing i did was test the battery, then jumped off another battery with the negative on the marina disconnected. No joy I have also tested all fuses for continuity all OK.

What is battery voltage on testing ? Never heard or known of anyone doing that before " with the negative on the marina disconnected. "

The idea of disconnecting the negative was to isolate the meriva battery

13v but unable to put battery under load. Which is why I isolated the battery. Not crazy according to a mechanic friend.

A fully-charged 12-volt battery, allowed to “rest” for a few hours (or days) with no load being drawn from it (or charge going to it), will balance out its charge and measure about 12.6 volts between terminals. Hope you and your " mechanic " get it fixed .
