Vauxhall Meriva braking - clinking noise when braking

Car: Vauxhall Meriva
Variant: 1.4
Model Year: 2011
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
Every time I break there is a clinking noise as though the break is hitting off metal. Vauxhall have confirmed this but as yet have no fix. I have been informed by Arnold Clark whom I purchased the car from that they had a hire car in with the same problem. Is anyone else experiencing this.
Vauxhall are refusing to repalce the car as "it is safe to drive".

Keep at Clarks and Vauxhall for solution .The fact that Clarks had a hire car is irrelevant to you unless they found out what was at fault .Take it they have stripped down , examined , cleaned front pads ? ( assuming it's coming from front )

Hi Whittingehame,
Car has been stripped new Servos and Clarks mentioned front brake box not sure if this has been replaced. Vauxhall service desk no help as they just tell me they has been informed by technician that there is no fix as yet and that it is safe to drive......... I personally think it is a manufacture fault but no one will confirm this.

Not to sure what " new servos " are . Was it brake callipers ? The only brake box I'm aware of is the pedal carrier box .
