Vauxhall Insignia auto gearbox issue

Could be faulty microswitch in the shifter assembly.

" On occasion, i'll put the gearlever in Park and press the Stop button, the engine will turn off but i then get a 'Place gearlever in park' message and the warning noise bonging away at me. It sometimes takes two or three Start / Stops before it all turns off as normal. Anyone else experienced this issue? "

" Yep I get this, you will need to make sure the car has settled in the park mode before applying the handbrake if you know what I mean! meaning if you park up, maybe on a slight incline with having your foot on the brake, then immediately stick your handbrake on, then turn off the engine you seem to get this message!
