Hello, I have a problem with my insignia. When I turn the key the ignition lights come on but go out when I turn key and wont start as well as everything going off.
I've scanned for codes which I have the following -
Engine control module - U0101-01 - Lost communication with TCM
Electronic brake - U0101-00 - Lost communication with TCM
Power steering - U0100-00 - Lost communication with ECM.
I've taken the starter out and tested it all fine.
I've checked the voltage from the yellow wire from the starter to the ECU all fine.
I've replaced the TCM for another one but still the same codes. Not sure if it needs coding in and how to.
Checked fuses relating to auto transmission and ignition and all seem fine.
When I bridge the starter motor when in the engine it trys and starts but doesn't actually fire up.
Any help would be very appreciated. The car is currently stuck on my drive and cannot be moved.
Many thanks,
Kieran

You checked your battery voltage ? Tried a jump start or charging / replacing if needed ?

Hello, yes battery voltage has been checked and all fine recently been taken out and fully charged.
Tried jump starting with no difference in outcome.

12.6v when I checked it this morning.
When I bridge the starter motor it turns over but doesn't start. It doesn't sound like it's the battery at all.

IF battery o.k , check battery terminals , ALL ground / earth connections , Check any wiring near / under battery , check wiring and connections at starter . Try moving gear selector whilst holding key in start position

I have same issue as this recently with no idea how to fix. Did you find the root of the issue?

Just got an email through to say I have had another response! It turned out to be a slightly bend/damaged cable coming off the main ECU loom to the Transmission control module.
You need to take all the protection and covering off the loom going to the TCM and check each of the small cables individually millimeter by millimeter. Mine turned out to be 1 out of the around 10 small cables had damage of about 70%. Doing a light test on it showed it as working as it hadn't completely broken.
Fixed the cable and it started and worked as it should first time and drove with no issues.
