2013 Vauxhall Insignia fault code p2479

Car: Vauxhall Insignia
Year: 2013
Variant: 2l eco flex
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Car went into limp mode saying engine temperature too high. Oil and water all fine. When I plugged in diagnostic reader the above fault code came up. AA recovery man said he had experienced this on a number of cars and it is a software issue and an update is needed. He cleared the code and the car worked fine again, the fault hasn't returned and I have done 200-miles since. Has anyone come across this?
