Vauxhall Insignia temperature get high after short distance!

Within 2 miles from cold temperature reaches half way on gauge, before it use to take around 8 miles drive to get up to temp, when I switch off engine the fan kicks in. Never before has this happened. What it the problem

" 8 miles drive to get up to temp, " is not right , should be a lot sooner than that . Usually if thermostat is stuck open it takes that long to reach near operating temp .. Keep your eye on coolant level , coolant fan seems to be kicking in as normal . If you think it's not right , and losing coolant , thermostat may be worth changing .

If the DPF is over 95% full, a regen will be triggered from cold. The glow-plugs will remain on to provide the heat needed for the regen. I've had this a few times, just drive for 10 miles at 60mph to allow it to regenerate.
