Vauxhall Insignia car goes into engine power reduced mode, apparently this is a problem with the throttle control which has been changed twice and has now (after three weeks) happened again.

Car: Vauxhall Insignia
Variant: 2ltr.auto.
Model Year: 2019
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
when driving the warning light shows 'engine power reduced' the engine management light comes on and the car has very slow acceleration. When the car is stopped and the engine turned off it does not start again.

With a car of that year, I would imagine you are more or less tied to the dealership to remedy under warranty unfortunately .

Yes I am, it's with them at the moment and I just wondered if there was a fix for what is a recurring problem.

If it is a known problem you would think they would have solved it by now but I haven't seen any TSB s covering this fault .Not a lot you can do other than keep at them to get a happy resolution . Good luck .

Thanks, I hope they come up with something soon, getting a bit fed up with it all. Will let you know if they do.

Problem solved, it was a faulty cable that has now been replaced, so simple. Car is now running fine and I am so glad to have it back. Thanks for your interest and I hope this might be of use to anyone who encounters the same problem.

Did they say what this cable was or was it a wiring fault ?

It was a wiring fault. They didn't give a lot of detail, all they said was that they had found a fault and that they had re wired it.
