Vauxhall Insignia hissing noise when engine ticking over

THE HISSING NOISE SOMETIMES STOPS WHILE DRIVING OR
AGAIN IT MIGHT NOT I WAS TOLD IT COULD BE THE FAN BELT

Could be,
auto belt tensioner so backing it off when the engine is running to see if the noise goes would be a start.
If not then it may be a turbo induction leak.
check all the induction hoses clips.
A cheap mechanics stethoscope with the end probe removed so it's just the ear pieces then a hollow pipe is my tool of choice for finding mystery noises.
They don't cost much and are amazingly useful.
