Sounds ominous , needs scanned for fault codes but pull the plugs and see if there is any indication on the condition of them that might indicate fault

I found the solution to all my problems & most vauxhall engine faults,backfires etc..
Apparently the sparkplugs (3 cylinder,I thought there was 4 sparkplugs in all cars) are a very common fault.Ran Diagnostic test into connector under steering column.Removed spark plugs & centre electrode (middle pin) collapses when I turned it upside down..BOOM.. your welcome.

@ whittingehame The sparks are a common problem on these vauxhalls,grandland 1.2 sri turbo astra & corsa all same engines.
Centre electrodes collapse.

I am very aware of that . If you look in our archive section you will see previous posts on spark plug problems . The 3 cyl engine have been around for years with a lot of manufacturers , not a fan .Thank you for reply
