Vauxhall Frontera not turning over

Car: Vauxhall Frontera
Variant: 2.2 dti
Model Year: 2000
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Baterry is fully charged
All ignition lights come on
Turn the key to the start position and I hear a couple of relays click once, but the starter doesn't kick in at all.
Let it sit for 10 mins and come back to it, the car starts as it should.
Try starting it again, it does, then it doesn't, then it does.
Please help?

What voltage is your battery showing when you say it is fully charged ? Have you had it load tested ?
Posted Apr 7, 2017 (7 years ago)
the battery is showing over 13volts, not had it load tested. The battery is less than 12 months old.

" the battery is showing over 13volts," . Seems too high .Is that with battery at rest or with engine running and charging ?

Sorry fat thumbs on small phone. It's 12 volts!!! 12!

Battery is too low . Get it load tested to check for any weak cells and check alternator output at same time .

So, I've done some more investigations over the weekend. The battery is fine and the starter is fine. I have live coming from the ignition switch heading for the starter, but that power isn't getting to the starter. So, what is between the ignition switch and the starter? Is it an immobiliser or is there a switch on the auto box (park sensor)?
If it's one of these or something else, where should I be looking please???
Thanks for your replies so far

You never said it was an automatic , doesn't help .Try moving the gear selector , check inhibitor switch , and gear selector actuator switch Or best bet , get it scanned
