A lot of complaints about heavy oil consumption on that make . Unfortunately Vauxhall dealerships will probably say your figures are within their parameters and acceptable .Just have to live with it and keep topping up when needed .

Many thanks for your assistance

Really not acceptable . I remember on earlier VX 1600 engines 1000 miles per top up was often the norm and it mentioned it in the owners manual . But with todays technology and engine improvements it shouldn't be happening .

I will check the handbook to see if there is any clue. I will call into the local dealership and see what they have to say.
Thanx for your advice

I paid. £120 for a technical check up. No faults highlighted. Dealer topped up oil and advised me to drive 1000 miles then return the car to the garage to assess oil consumption. Aparantly Between 0.5 to 1 litre oil consumption every 1000 miles are within design parameters.

Dont know why they carried this out " £120 for a technical check up. " , not really needed for a brief oil consumption check . As for " Between 0.5 to 1 litre oil consumption every 1000 miles are within design parameters." that is what I expected they would say which is really bad with todays engines and modern oils . Most cars nowadays will go thousands of miles before needing topped up even slightly , some not needing any between servicing . Sorry I cant be of more help . Could check oil level they topped up is not over the mark .
