Vauxhall Corsa engine managment light, senors faulty?

Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Model Year: 1997
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
over the past few weeks my corsa has started to show the engine managment light, and then this makes the tic over on the engine go wrong. the car is still drivable but as i am learning at the moment, its not really perfect. also time to time the oil light also comes on and as i pull over, the car cuts out and stops running. the car then turns on fine, and will run perfectly for a while, then sometimes on the same journey, sometimes not, the lights come on again. this is whats making us think the sensors are playing up? are the sensors on these cars always bound to be faulty?
thankyou!

your car need to go on a diagnostic machine, most garages have them, this will identify the fault and what needs to be changed, senors do become faulty due to age or because they need to be cleaned

There is no simple answer . The engine managment light coming on means you need to get it scanned to see what fault codes are stored . The oil light coming on could be something simple like oil pressure switch or major like a worn engine . You could check oil level first and if not been done for a while , change oil and filter .
