Vauxhall Corsa brake noise

Car: Vauxhall Corsa

Model Year: 2011

I was just wondering why my new corsa makes a rubbing sort of noise when i brake. I definately thing its something to do with the brake discs. I have taken it back to vauxhall but they tell me all new corsa's make this noise as they have used a new compound... please help me because i dont think its acceptable to have a new car that makes this noise when i use the brakes

You could strip down brake callipers / pads and clean out any dirt, salt , grit and then refit after giving a coat of Coperslip grease to pads and contact points . But shouldn't need to do that with new car , but with the weather we've had , might help / cure noise .Could ask to try another car and see if it's the same .

ive had this problem too, this will be the 5th time i have been back to perrys, brought my corsa excite 2011 plate outright, picked up on march 11th and in last 6 weeks have been to garage 4 times re noisy braking, they didnt listen:
1st visit something about a coating had been rubbed off
2nd visit new front disc pads despite me telling them noise from rear
3rd visit some more coating taken off
4th visit the same as before

so clearly its an ongoing probelm, have even complained to vauxhall, there response is thats wat the warranty is for, ummmmmm what about my time and cost of petrol to and from garage as nearest is 12 miles away, POOR POOR customer service.

Hi, I bought my Corsa only 3 weeks ago this week and from day one I've had the same problem. My husband said give it time and wait to see if the noise eases. Unfortunately this hasn't.

I'm so so disappointed, because you look forward to your new car and when you get something wrong with it, it takes all the excitement away.

I've contact the garage and asked them if they would take it back and they will buy it back at £2k less than I paid for it or I can take it in and they will have a look at it. One member of staff from the garage let it slip that they have had a few customers come back and complain about the same noise, so there's obviously a problem with this make of car.

When I test drove the demo car the brakes did make a noise and I brought this to the salesman's attention. He's reply was oh when its left standing for a period of time the dust gets stuck to the brake pads, but once this has cleared the noise will disappear. So he obviously was spinning me a load of nonsense if there are other people experiencing the same problem.

The noise is when you brake it sounds as though the brake pads are wearing out. Very squeaky and scratchy. So very disappointed with this vehicle and wouldn't recommend any.one buying one :-(

I have the same problem with noisy brakes my car is a corsa 1.4 SRI brand new and I have only done 500 miles. I decided to wait and see if the noise goes away thinking that it was just new brakes bedding in and if anything the noise is getting worse. Beginning to think that I have made a big mistake going for a Vauxhall Corsa.
