I take it they are saying engine is noisy because of lack of oil pressure from pump ? There are many causes for the Corsa engine to be noisy , from timing chain , camshaft , tappets etc. Also a worn engine will cause lack of pressure as will lack of oil / fiter changing .

I bought the car 4 months ago and to be honest it has always been noisy (engine). didn't think it was a pump change needed? also is it expensive?

if the oil pump does need to be changed could be quite involved job as timing chain needs to be removed along with the covers and gaskets and retensioned when put back,is the oil warning light coming on when driving as this would indicate low oil pressure,do an oil and filter change if not done already as this might make a slight improvement

Will be expensive . You can check oil pressure with a guage , but it wont tell you the reason if low .

No the oil light has never come on, its only the guy who serviced it said that the engine was noisy and then when putting your foot on the accelerator its quiter! what do you think?

If you haven't had oil and filter changed , it would be worth doing . Use a good make of oil and filter . If still having problems after that you could be heading for expensive engine repairs .
