Vauxhall Corsa over heating

Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Variant: 1.2 16v twinport
Model Year: 2005
Categories: Leaks & Noises
i brought this car after some front end accident damage, just a minor shunt i was told, got the car home to find the raditor was broken and had been driven with now coolent in, the head gasket had gone, water pump gone, thermostat stuck shut and fan unit not working, needless to say all parts were replaced with genuine vauxhall parts which was expensive but now i have a problem where the car is constantly running very near to the red line on temp gauge and i keep loosing coolent, there are no signs of any leaks or contamination, all hoses are getting hot but fan unit doesnt seem to be coming in until its right on the redline, can anyone help as i am about to take a very long drive and am a little concerned. any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

i wouldnt take that car on a long drive as it is if where you.

1. change fan control switch usualy located in the bottom of the rad.

or for test only, or helping for your long drive, put an extra lead to the fan control switch, and run this through to the car and set up an on off switch so you can turn on the fan yourself,,,, or run the wire directly to complete the circuit, so the fan runs all the time the car is running.

if this stops the problem,it would prove theres no other faults in the other works already carried out. this is very important, as so many coolant parts before were replaced at the same time, so apart from going over all the previous works one by one and testing etc etc etc
