Vauxhall Corsa brake problem

my brakes dnt stop as quick as they should so i took my car to kwik fit for a free brake check & got told i need 659 pound of work doing including 4 new tyres,2 shock absorbers,2 brake cylinders & a tie rod+inner joint as u can tell im quite worried,bt my car past its mot last month without any problems,how dangerous could this be to drive without paying out this huge amount

for starters mark i would not shop at kwik fit as they are a rip of any way if you are mechanically minded you could do all these problems your self apart from the tyres but you could get a much better offer on tyres from say mr tyre / hi q / and many other tyre depots that can do a better deal for your tyres but do have a second opinion on this from some other independant garage as you may be shocked again as there may not be as much wrong with as kwik fit have said so get a second opinion

Agree with member above do not use Kwik fit. They will bankrupt you. Use a reputable independant garage if you are not able to do the work yourself.

defo agree with guys above, DONT use kwik fit, they use an oil can so looks like you got oil leaks on different things, i know from experience.

may jst need new pads or disks, but checks your pedal for excessive travel to check brake servo. also think about a independent garage to check the system, i.e fluid, which may need changing if not been changed, etc.
