Vauxhall Corsa faulty horn

Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Variant: 1,3cdt.i
Model Year: 2015
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
the horn stopped working, ive had a mechanic gone over the car, he replaced a new squib into the car, and no change, he tested the car, from underneath and the horn made a noise, i dont think he tried to replace the old horn with a new one, he then explained i would require a new fusebox, however this has not happened as another garage advised me . i do not need the fusebox! ive checked the fuses and nothing ! took the car to vauxhall dealer left it with them for 2 days expensive bill and no luck, had to withdraw the vehicle and still cant figure out what to do or where to turn to.

Are you saying Vauxhall dealership had it for two days , gave you an expensive bill and can't fix the horn ?

yes, they said they could not track the fault. and suggested i leave it with them longer, that would cost me too much money, if they could not find/trace the fault.i wanted to speak to their service manager and that fell on deaf ears, all i got was patronising remarks.

What was the bill for ? what have they checked or work done in the 2 days ? What does the payment invoice say ?

When the mechanic tested it and it made a noise , that proves there is power at horn . If so and it is properly earthed , it should work . If not a faulty horn . You could remove the horn and bench test with battery to verify if faulty or not .

If you had taken the car to an independant auto electrician and had checked it out , if t couldn't be fixed , they could have rigged up a none OEM horn and push button the same day a lot cheaper than that i

ok that seems more positive , and i will get it to a electrical mechanic and get him to fit a new horn rather than waste more money trying to resolve the old issue.
thanks for your advice.
i will update you if/when i get this problem solved.
