Vauxhall Corsa power steering not working on start up

Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Variant: 1.2 SXI
Model Year: 2008

power steering and ABS warning light comes on when starting on coldish morning. Both don't work for a mile or so. Then restart car and problem goes away...has anyone else had this and knows a solution?

You need to get your battery load tested and your alternator charging rate checked also .

Thanks, just purchased the car so had been sitting on the forecourt for a few weeks, so battery maybe low. Will be doing a long drive tomorrow so hopefully that might help matters

Sitting for a long time may have caused it as you suggest . Your trip may boost it back up , if not a trickle charge should do if battery has no weak cells . Alternator would SEEM to be ok if after short journey it has put enough back into the battery to clear fault . Enjoy your drive .
