Vauxhall Corsa problems when cold

sometimes when my car is cold i have alot of problems starting it, even when it does start i cant seem to get the revs up, it very chokey, i can put foot ryt to floor and it doesnt go anywhere, is this common with early corsa's or is something wrong? on normal or warm days its fine.

i would say clean of the throttle body and see how you go from there first using carb and injection cleaner available from all good factors for about £3.99
