2007 Vauxhall Corsa reverse lights stays on

hi i was pulled today by the police because my reverse light was on when i was driving then when the officer asked me to turn on my engine but leave it in neutral it done the same thing but when i got home and checked, it did not come on could someone help me before i go out and spend a shed load of money on my car that is not even going to be the right problem thank you much appreciated

Usually a faulty reverse light switch .

cheers mate do you know how much this would roughly cost me before i get done over by the garrage lol

The reverse light switch is usually a 10 min job as on most models it's just a case of disconnecting wiring plug , then unscrewing switch from g/ box casing and replacing .This shows you the switch your looking for
