Vauxhall Corsa auto gearbox not going into park

the auto gearbox does not seem to want to go into park so not releasing key from ignition (Please help as cannot lock doors and have had to leave key in ignition as it is not releasing key)

Is it a Corsa or a Vectra , you say both in post ?

yeh sorry my mistake it is a vectra 2.2 automatic will not go into park or release key any solutions?

On some the brake switch was tied into the gear selector lock , check brake lights are working , if not faulty switch .There was usually a gear selector micro switch underneath at selector shift lever that could prevent operation , can usually move manually to by pass .
