Vauxhall Corsa water in footwell passenger side wet carpet

Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Model Year: 2000
Categories: Leaks & Noises
I have read reports on this but need to know how l locate the source to check if blocked drain channels are the cause. Where is scuttle board on this model? How do I check to see if leaves etc are the cause. I have no knowledge of how to check for this. If someone could talk me through this l am willing to do the check myself, cannot afford garage fees .

Take out the battery,no as easy as it sounds!!
Then remove the battery base plate/tray and you'll be at the part where leaves gather,
clean it out until the rubber drain tube entrance is avialable to poke something down and through it.
And as for garage fees, well I wouldn't charge more than half an hour, and I do know how to remove the battery, and as I stated it's not straight forward,by any means!!
and I have acess to an air line and a very powerfull blow gun.
Reconsider the garage, chances are you'll snap the lower screen grill trying to get the battery out,
or getting the battery jammed.

Are you sure its rain water? If it smells / tastes sweet it could be the heater matrix is leaking radiator fluid. Also check the water level in the radiator. Happened to my car
