Vauxhall Corsa cv joint i think!

sometimes when i turn right the steering is really tough,when i had my brake pads replaced at a garage bwt 6 months ago he said tht the rod round my cv joint had broke so he put a zip tie on!!could this have snapped as to my problem?and is it expensive to be fixed?please help

could be a dried up c.v joint i would further expect it to be the steering motor at fault, after experiencing it 1st hand replacement is straight forward with the right equipment but needs a dealer reprograme. any further help 07902004967

cheers for the reply,i took it to the garage & the mechanic said because there isnt any knocking when steering it jus needs sum more grease applying to the joint then tying back up!
