hi my corsa sometimes jurks like hesitation when taking off, sometimes idles funny at just over a 1000 just under 2000 revs like up and down makes exhaust sound funny i have to rev the car up couple of times to get it to stop reving like that to get it reving normaly but this doesent always happen just sometimes when sitting still. My engine managment light stays on when sitting still but when take off it goes off and stays off when sitting at a steady speed just sometimes it comes on when slowing down if i was sitting at 60 its fine but when slowing down comes on and off. just on take off the jurking holding back is a problem but there is times it doesent jurk but most of the time it does i had this problem for a some time then it just stopped, light on dashboard stayed off car run good for couple o months but then this all started again it is just anoying when taking off and when sitting at lights when it is reving up and down maybe just a small problem hope someone can help on this i have explaned it best as i can.

yes the problem is the stepper motor/idle control valve that is the problem with the revs dropping and picking up all the time this is common on all the corsas so you are not alone get the car booked in at hte dealers or a good garage in your area and the problem resolved and it will be happy motoring again

yes that right it gets carboned up and starts to stick hence the revs sticking

Hi just sold my corsa the same thing happened to me, i replaced the idle control valve costs about £40 also replaced the air flow meter. wouldnt bother putting it into a garage as it will cost to much you should do it yourself or get someone to do it for you! I was told i needed EGR valve which i didnt, saved me a lot of money. your corsa should run right after that

also people will tell you to clean the valve with carb cleaner, but trust me it makes matters worse. hope ive helped lol

you should also get the parts on ebay

i wouldnt buy this from ebay as in most cases you wont have any manufactures warranty and they are not exspensive from the dealers / motor factors

I have a similar problem with my Vauxhall Tigra...i was also told it is the EGR valve, took it to a garage and they cleaned it...and the problem is still there...i would recommend getting them replaced instead of cleaned because it didnt work for me.
