I drove to work this morning and my car was chugging half way through the journey. An amber check engine light came on and off while it was chugging. I was running low on guel so I went straight to the petrol station and put half a tank in. When I was drining home from work the same thing happened.

Have it scanned and see if a fault code has been logged.
