Vauxhall Corsa car cut out, power loss and louder engine

Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Variant: 1.2 Merit 8V
Model Year: 1994
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Recently my car broke down during a 20 minute motorway journey. The engine cut out but then restarted once stopped. I thought that it may be the fuel pump so I have tried an Engine Flush. I also used an oil additive to the engine. The engine has become very loud whilst in mid-revs. Also jerky whilst coming off the accelerator.

using a engine flush wont clean the fuel pump all i can suggest is you give the car a full service as there isnt really anything that goes wrong with the 8v engines air filter oil filter fuel filter spark plugs and engine oil 10w40 or 15w40 either of these oils will do

i agree with tomkas on this one, if it has not been serviced fo a while and the oil is too old the hydraulic tappets can become very noisey
