Vauxhall Combo speedometer / odometer not working . is there a sensor ?

Variant: 1.6 van petrol / lpg
Model Year: 2004

all dash functioning except speedo and odometer clocks are electrical so is there a sensor ? if so where will I locate it . ???

Yeah,
it's in the gearbox,
above the differential.
But before you go pulling it apart a good garage will have Vaux diagnostic software,
there's a section in this that can "drive" gauges without the vehicle even being on the road,
handy!
That way you'll know if it's the gearbox speed sensor or a failed gauge/wiring.
Might save you time and cash.
