i have a prob with my steering changed the tie ends.in the van at the bottom of the collum near the floor there seens to be some play or movment.

If you have changed the tie rods and you still have excessive play, then it sounds like the steering rack is at fault...

Check for loose bolts, broken or disconnected parts, and deteriorated rubber bushings on all steering and suspension components. Check also wheel bearings, steering knuckle, the drive shaft for worn u-joints and excessive play in the slip yoke and spline area. The stabilizer bar bushings should also be inspected for deterioration and so should also the steering gear to see if it is out of adjustment or broken.
