Vauxhall Cavalier battery warning / brake warning lights on

Car: Vauxhall Cavalier
Variant: petrol 1.6
Model Year: 1993
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
When the engine is running, I have both the battery charging and brakes warning lights on, but they are quite dim. If the engine is revved, both lights get dimmer until at high revs they are almost out, when the revs are reduced again, the warning lights brighten again though not to full brilliance.

Check alternator wiring and test output .

Alternator wiring looks ok physically. Voltage at battery with engine running is about 13.5 volts when last checked, however it was up around 14.08 Volts first thing this morning. It seems to vary around these figures, but does drop, obviously, if any other systems are switched on. The above figures are with everything bar the engine switched off.
