Vauxhall Cavalier engine hesitation

The engine occasionally hesitates when accelerating but tends to pick up again. It may run OK for a week and then the problem reappears. A few days ago the problem seemed to arise when running over a rough section of road although this could have been co-incidental. Any help would be appreciated

Try changing the fuel filter
