Vauxhall Cavalier when car is just started and been standing for a while and i drive i hear a noise

then after a few yards driveing fast like normal speed down the A55 it stops. i not sure if it is fan belt trouble or something eles any ideas?

check belt tension should be quite tight then check belt not glazed shiny if so replace

This depends on the type of noise your hearing, a shreiking noise or similar to a car skidding, would say fan/alternator belt.

Tapping noise is normal on start up.

If its a humming noise, and stops after about 5 minutes or so, then that is what i know to be the air dryer, nothing to worry about mine is the same, tigra's also have these.
