Vauxhall Cavalier hose identification & what does it do?

Car: Vauxhall Cavalier
Variant: 2.0 SRi 16V
Model Year: 1995
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
This hose is split all along the underside out of sight. No consistent problems have been experienced with the car to speak of. Occaisionally, the car stalls after a long run on the Motorway as I'm slowing down for traffic lights for example.

Anyway, I need to get a new hose, but don't know what it's called or what it does. See attached JPG. Hose is ringed in red.

Just to close this question. I got the part from a Vauxhall dealer at a cost of £12.75 including VAT. Very easy / quick job to replace.
