Vauxhall Astra intermittent loss of power

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Variant: 2.2 litre injection, 8 valve cabriolet
Model Year: 2003
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi just had a new battery fitted, engine was flooded while RAC man tried to jump start the car. Cloads of blue smoke and very strong smell of fuel during the process.
Car running fine now, no indicator lights on dash. no funny positioning of rev counter etc... But while driving car seems to lose power for couple seconds every minute or so.. Feels like a giant magnet is behind car pulling it back.
Should spark plugs be changed (if what Rac man said is correct and engine was flooded)..?
Please help ;-(

Could well be the cause as plugs were wet and probably fouled up . Normally a good run will dry them out but not always .Would be a good first step to check before getting too involved and see if that fixes car .
