Vauxhall Astra engine running rough

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Variant: 1.8 auto
Model Year: 2007
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
On start up when the car is idling it sounds and feels like it is running on three plugs. Its been in and had its air intake cleaned but no improvement. No red light. No simptons when it is on the road.
What could be wrong?

If it's only doing it at start up and then clears , check engine coolant temp sensor . But best bet would be to get a diagnostic scan carried out .

Thanks whittingehame. Took car into local independent Friday. As soon as I described the symptons top mechanic said he knew what the problem was. He said it was soot or dirt on the air intake manifold (I didnt properly understand). They cleaned it.
Next morning from cold symptons exactly as before.
Today it went in again and after diagnostic ytesting said it was the lambda sensor which checks exhaust gases and ajusts the fuel to the engine. They have sent for the part and job will be done Monday.
Does this make sense?
