yes the smell of fuel does go when the car is warm simon u said that it could be either the oxygen sensor or the coolant temp sensor r these jobs easy to do tony

the answer to your question is yes and no,give the oxygen sensor a spray with wd40 and allow it to soak as these can sieze in the exhaust due to being exposed to the weather,make sure you use a good quality socket to reduce the risk of rounding off,the coolant sensor should be straight forward to replace
