Vauxhall Astra steering seems to scranch

when i move of my drive slowly and turn steering wheelall wayeither left or right a scranching sound happens this stops when it drives forward and i cant hear it when i travel only hear when imdoing say 3 point turn or sharp turns.

Do you have larger than standard alloy wheels on the car? This sometimes happens when the tyres rub in the arches due to over-sized wheels being fitted.
