Vauxhall Astra misfire

Variant: 1.6 8v auto
Model Year: 2000

i have had a diagnostic test done today and came up with 2 misfires and faulty egr valve, so garage told me i must have piston rings changed.

can somebody help me as i think they are not all that correct and believe its more to do with egr valve

Is car burning oil ? You could try cleaning or blanking off EGR valve and see how it is after that. Misfire could be something simple like plugs etc. You could always get second opinion from another garage .

having piston rings changed is a bit drastic for a misfire,get it looked at by another garage
