Model Year: 1998
Categories: Leaks & Noises
my 1998 astra mk3 has developed a humming/rumbling sound which starts at about 35mph upto about 65mph. i have replaced both driveshafts with secondhand ones thinking it could be one of the cv joints or driveshaft itself but without sucess i have been told that it could be the diff as vauxhall are known for diff failures and the car has done approx 87000 miles any advice would be a great help thanks

i drive a 1998 1.8 vauxhall astra convertible it has developed a sort of humming/rumbling sound when driving about 35mph up to 65mph the noise seems to go quiet turning right and louder turning left i have replaced both driveshafts with secondhand ones thinking it could be the cv joints or the driveshafts themselves but this hasnt cured the problem i have been told it could be the diff as vauhalls are known for diff problems and the car has done 87000 miles i am also wondering if it could possibly something to do with the power steering? any advice would be a great help thanks
