Vauxhall Astra dashboard dials all drop and warning lights illuminate

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Variant: 1.8 SRi
Model Year: 2007
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
When driving all the dials drop and the lights go out. All the warning lights, eg engine management light, brake warning light, airbag light etc.illuminate (all warning lights that illuminate when you start the ignition). The car does not cut out and then after about 1 second all the dials activate and all the warning lights go out.

The vehicle has been taken to Vauxhall twice for this who state there is nothing wrong with the car.

Anyone any ideas ?

If car still under warranty and been in twice , as you say for fault ,get on to Vauxhall Customer Services and see what they would suggest .Saying that if it doesn't do it and there is no fault when they check , hard to diagnose and rectify.

Thanks for that.
Do you think that this could be a major problem or just a bit of an electrical glitch.

Really hard to say not knowing cause , could be either . Only good thing, if later it occurs more often and is expensive to rectify , they and you will have a record of previous visits to workshop .This should aid you in claiming against Vauxhall .Certainly wouldn't be happy if it was my car with this fault .
