Intermittent code 84 on dash board but no engine warning light just traction light
Engine in limp mode
Wiggle the connecting wires to engine and coil pack and then seems to run fine for a while

Code 84 in the display is just a generic warning that engine power is reduced ,not a fault code as such , From what you say, may be the coil pack breaking down intermittently affecting a cylinder or wiring plug / connection to coil pack

Thanks for the reply, I should have mentioned that I have changed the coil pack and spark plugs around 4 weeks ago too

To really check you would need to scan for any stored fault codes . Might be worth checking battery condition / voltage and alternator charging rate . Also check , clean or replace if needed , MAF sensor .Traction light coming on may be a sensor also

Hi, Rebecca, my Astra is experiencing the same problem, did you find a solution?
