Vauxhall Astra doors fill up with water

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Variant: 1.6 Petrol manual 5 speed
Model Year: 2014
Categories: Leaks & Noises
First noticed this about 2018 (had the car from new), I heard a sloshing sound and after parking investigated, the drivers door was full of water.
The drainage holes have rubber bungs in them with a rubber flap that one assumes is supposed to release when there is water, but it did not. On removing the rubber bungs a good few pints of water came out of the door.
This has since happened with all the doors at some point since, the latest (summer 2021) it was the front passenger door which up til then had not filled with water.
The Astra must have a very bad seal around the window to let in so much water!
This was my first Vauxhall after being a Ford man for 30 years, not impressed and probably would not buy another Vauxhall.

Routinely clear the water drains or leave the bungs out .

Yeah, I am leaving the bungs out, cannot really see what the point of them is. Rather have water getting out than slowly rusting the doors.

Happened on mine too, only 1 door, mostly.
