Vauxhall Astra intermittent starting

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Model Year: 2006
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Sometimes when I start the car the engine kicks in then stops abruptly. The engine management light comes on and flickers. I switch off wait a short while then when starting it fires correctly and gives no further problem. I have recently had a new inlet manifold fitted because this showed up as a fault code. Although the car seems to run better the intermittent start procedure still exists. What causes the fault. Can you help? Thanks

You dont say what engine , could try changing engine coolant temp sensor

It is a 1.6 Petrol engine. The main problem is when the car has done a fair journey and I have to switch off in a traffic jam it will not re-start and the management light starts to flash. Switch off and wait about a minute and then it will start. Seems to be worse in the Summer time. Does that point towards the coolant sensor? Thanks a lot.
