Vauxhall Astra intermittent electrical problems

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Variant: Mk6 1.6 petrol Exclusiv
Model Year: 2010
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Fan intermittently coming on full with service light, usually improves a little after a long run. Rear Licence plate light intermittently flagging up a code, and centre console going dark and unresponsive intermittently in mornings, all audio including warning chimes are silent when this happens, usually works normally after a few minutes of driving. Already replaced sensor and thermostat housing once before just over a year ago. Not wanting to spend more money needlessly for garages not to find the problem. Any help would be great. Thanks

You could start with checking switches for damp and using some electrical spray.

A low battery can cause some of these faults . Either charge it or get it load tested / replaced especially if quite old .Sure it's the service light and not EML ?.Most Vauxhalls of round about that year have INSP warning for servicing .Obviously check coolant level first re. fan .
