Vauxhall Astra fuel starvation (i think)

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Variant: ls, dti, 16v 2ltr, auro, v-reg
Model Year: 1999
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Wondering if anyone could shed some light upon a problem with a vauxhall????? I have a vauxhall astra estate, auto, diesel.
The problem i am having is.... when i start the car, its sluggish, wont rev above 1250k if lucky, and it then cuts out, try to restart it, and its just turning over, and over, and over again, (its not the starer motor, alternator, glow plugs, egr valve) it does eventually start, and it revs right up, 3k/4k etc. it seems to be starving of fuel, i carnt see any leaks in the fuel lines underneath, (they are bright blue, little dirty but can be seen straight away) once the car has started it runs fine, turbo kicks in, and changes gears smoothly, can stop and start the car, ie go to the shop, and it starts fine, but then i have the same trouble as beginning, if the car has been turned off, and is sat still for about 2 hours or more. the diesel tank is full, it just seems to be starving when still for long periods of time ( diesel running back) Any ideas ladies and gents????? would be great not to have to get up, and go out 10/15 minutes early in the morning, and have the greef, and then during the day, and after work. x

If you think it may be a fuel starvation fault , change fuel filter ?
