2004 Vauxhall Astra rear hazard / indicator lights flashing

Hi. Can anyone help with a problem where the rear hazard or indicator lights are flashing? At the same time a loud ticking noise can be heard inside the car seemingly from the passenger side dash or glove compartment. This had previously been happening but after the battery was replaced about 6 months ago this problem had appeared to have stopped. It happens randomly and lasts for a while before stopping by itself. Thanks

Is this apart from the normal audible click you get when indicators / hazards are flashing ?

Hi whittingehame. It's a different noise to that. Almost like a really rapid clicking noise

From what you say , sounds like a relay clicking .Case of tracing noise to source .
