Vauxhall Astra car wont start

Variant: 1.6 triptonic auto
Model Year: 2005

Car wont start. When i put the key in ingnition and turn it to start the car nothing happens. I tried to jumpstart the car but it didnt work. I dont know if it needs a new battery or motor fixing. The car doesnt even lock or unlock and have to manually put key in and only driver door locks. The key doesnt work either eg. The button to lock and unlock. Help please

If your ignition light,s on the dash are dim,chances are your battery is flat and requires charging,If ignition light,s are normal then you would have to check for power to the starter solenoid when cranking with either a test light or meter.

When i put the key in the ignition nothing happens. No light on the dash board
Comes on. The radio turns on and off. But other than that nothing else is working.

Okay,if the battery is fully charged it,s possibly a faulty ignition switch,If you remove the cowling round the steering column and check the switch for power.

Sounds like completely flat battery , get it tested , charged and replaced if needed.
