Vauxhall Astra seat belt pretentioner

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Model Year: 1999
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
The pretentioner on the drivers seat belt went off when I was reversing (slowly). The airbag light is lit on the dash although the airbag did not deploy. Any suggestions for the reason to this so that if I get it repaired it will not happen again.

there isnt any reason for it going off at all as something must have triggered it of but a replacement belt pretentioner will cost around the 100 mark and will need reprogramming to the car and have a diagnostic done on the car to see what triggered it off so i would recommend a vauxhall dealer do the work for you as its a dangerous job to do as its a gas cylinder and pressureised
